Aissata (Aisha) Diallo

Aissata Diallo is from West Africa and moved to the United States 18 years ago with her family. Aissata speaks four languages and it was when she moved to Columbus (formerly living in Detroit, Michigan) that she learned English as a second language. Her love for children started back home where she says in Africa, childcare was not available, the children were watched by family and friends in the neighborhood. After moving to the states, she continued in child care by babysitting for her neighbors. While holding a few other jobs, Aissata realized childcare was truly where her heart was at. She went back to school and received her childcare license and has now been in childcare for 9 years. “It takes a village to raise a child” is something that has always been in her heart.
